Requirements to be named to the license as the “Director” or “Administrator” are determined by your state’s child daycare licensing agency. Generally, the Director must have a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college. Many states require a degree or associated degree specific to early childhood education or elementary education. Other states may require only a certain number of college credits in early childhood related classes.

No, unlike some other child care businesses, Youthland Academy recognizes that the heart of a good child care is the care – not a fancy building. We have an architect’s plans available if you choose to build, but there are many excellent alternatives which may allow you to provide quality care without the high overhead costs of building a building.

The number of children will vary from Academy to Academy determined by the size of the facility. We suggest an average enrollment of 150 – 225 children. At this level, your Academy is large enough to operate profitably, but small enough to remain personal.

Youthland was founded during the infancy of the child care concept expansion in the early 1980’s. Over the past several decades, Youthland has grown with the industry to meet the demands of today’s families. As a franchisee, we will keep you up to date on the newest trends in child care. For example, one option for a Youthland Academy franchisee is to operate an on-site child care facility for a large corporate employer or hospital.

You will need to provide your Youthland Academy representative with three months of banking statements and allow us to run a credit check. You will also need to disclose immediately any bankruptcies.

With a Youthland Academy franchise, you own your own business. Each situation is different, and we cannot project or guarantee a certain income. You will be provided with a suggested business plan and monthly spreadsheet, but you are in control of your own business’s spending reports.
